BREAKING: Enugu State Government Sacks three Commissioners..

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State carried out a cabinet reshuffle which saw three commissioners stepping down and two new ones sworn in at the meeting of the State Executive Council.

The affected three Commissioners include;

Dr. Godwin Udeuhele (Commissioner for Information),

Mr. Charles Ndukwe (Commissioner for Youth and Sport) and

Barrister Smart Ogbe (Commissioner for Inter-Governmental Affairs).

The two new Commissioners sworn in during the Council’s meeting include, Mr. Ogbuagu Anikwe who now takes charge of Information and Mr. Joseph Udedi who was deployed to the Ministry of Youth and Sport.

The changes came as a first step in the move by Governor Ugwuanyi to reorganize his cabinet and strengthen it for more efficient service delivery to the good people of Enugu State.

The new Information Commissioner, Anikwe is a veteran journalist and public communications strategist and was until his recent appointment, the Chairman of Editorial Board of BusinessDay Newspaper.

He had worked as a News Editor of the The Guardian Newspaper and later Editor of Daily Times of Nigeria.

The new Commissioner had also worked as World Bank Consultant for the Federal Inland Revenue and a number of State Governments.

He was also the Spokesperson for the Federal Government’s Committee on Power Sector Reforms, where he worked with the Presidential Taskforce on Power and the Federal Ministry of Power.

It is expected that he will bring to bear his wealth of experience on the new assignment as the spokesman of Enugu State Government.
