Men love women. We do. We love making them laugh. We love their bodies and their smiles. We love the way they dance and the way they walk, and the gracefulness they bring to even the most mundane, everyday chores. We smile when they’re happy and do our best to comfort them when they’re not.
Which probably goes a long way toward understanding how we put up with the crazy things they do. (Why they put up with us, on the other hand, is a total mystery.) So here are 10 things women do that drive us crazy, inspired by this Reddit thread.
She’s Chronically Late
The more important the deadline — a movie showing, a restaurant reservation, a play — the more likely she would be late and the longer she would take to get ready. It got to the point that the dude began lying, telling her the movie was at 8 p.m. when, in fact, it didn’t start till 9 p.m.
She Uses Sex As A Weapon
If you’ve noticed a pattern in your sex life that goes something like, “We have sex when she’s happy or I’ve done something special for her, but when she’s even slightly upset with me she seems to be ‘too tired,'” there’s a good chance your woman is treating you like a dog and sex like a doggie treat. Worse still, some women are much more blunt about it, and don’t even disguise the fact that they use sex as leverage.
She Can’t Put Her Phone Down
OK, ladies, we get it: Your friends and family are important to you. And as such, your phone is important to you, too, and parting with it, even for short periods of time, can cause anxiety. But there comes a time when face-to-face contact becomes more important than checking your Twitter feed, and usually that time is date night. Take your eyes off your smartphone and we promise not to notice the cute waitress serving us drinks. Deal? Deal.
She Expects You To Read Her Mind
Ladies want a man who is attentive and sensitive to their needs. Unfortunately, they often confuse being nice with being Nostradamus. No, girls, sadly we cannot tell when you’re hungry or thirsty, and we most definitely can’t guess where you’d like to eat or what movie you’d like to see — at least without a little input.
She Guilts You
If movies, books and television have taught men anything, it’s that we’ll do anything for a woman we love. Unfortunately, they know this. That’s why it’s so easy for them to get you to do things you don’t want to do. (A short list: the ballet/opera, romantic comedies, double dates with her friend and her friend’s new boyfriend, cooking classes, doing literally anything else when there’s a game on, and so forth.)
She Says “Fine”
Gentlemen, we don’t know much about women, but one thing we do know is that things are never “fine” when they say things are “fine.” There is no single word that should cause you more fear and agitation, because when she says, “fine,” what she really means is that things have reached world-ending, cataclysmic levels of bad and the fact that you don’t know it only makes things worse.
She Holds Grudges
Once you’ve made the mistake of giving a wrong answer to a loaded question, even if it was years ago, even if it was before you were dating, even if you’ve apologized or changed your mind, you better believe you haven’t heard about it for the last time.
She Poses Entrapping Questions
“Do I look fat in this?” “Is my friend Amaka pretty?” “If I ended up in a wheelchair would you still love me?” We’re all familiar with the questions, and the innocent way girls pose them, putting you between a rock and a hard place.
…BE A BETTER PERSON!
